Sexual Harassment Referral and Support
Sexual harassment can have serious and damaging effects on people's lives. At Southbank Institute of Technology we value your safety and well being. We have a network of Wellbeing Ambassadors who are able to assist you in the event of sexual harassment taking place during your time at the institute.
Sexual harassment is unfair, unnecessary and against the law. Sexual harassment is any form of unwanted, unwelcome or uninvited sexual behaviour which is or might be offensive, humiliating, intimidating or embarrassing.
The Anti-discrimination Act (1991) and Federal Sex Discrimination Act (1984) prohibit sexual harassment in all circumstances. These Acts give us the right to be treated fairly and to take action if unlawful sexual harassment occurs.

If you think you have been sexually harassed, discuss immediately with your teacher, one of the SBIT counsellors, Faculty Head of School, or one of the Institute Wellbeing Ambassadors.
